What is Glutathione – 11 Health Benefits of the Master Antioxidant

What is Glutathione?

Glutathione is a substance made from glycine, cysteine, and glutamic acid. It is produced by the liver and is involved in many body processes. Glutathione is involved in tissue building and repair, making chemicals and proteins needed in the body and immune system function.

What are the top Glutathione benefits?

Glutathione is a popular supplement for our guests as it offers a diverse range of benefits. It can help:

  • Relieve muscle and joint pain
  • Repair injuries
  • Regulate inflammation
  • Promote muscle protein synthesis and growth
  • Lower risk of illnesses or infection
  • Prevent muscle fatigue
  • Increase energy
  • Improve cardiovascular function
  • Improve physical exertion and stamina

Glutathione can improve muscular performance

Following a workout, oxidative stress primarily impacts your muscles. It can cause muscle fatigue, which lovers the amount of force your muscles can perform. Because of this, the ability to make progress during exercise lowers and may need to be put on hold altogether.

The time it takes to repair tissue is also affected by lowered glutathione levels, resulting in more intense and longer durations of soreness, muscle and joint pain, and injuries. Glutathione supplementation combats this oxidative stress, decreasing muscle fatigue and aiding in the recovery for intense or endurant physical activity.

Glutathione helps with your natural energy.

Energy production occurs within all cells (except red blood cells) via the mitochondria. Glutathione protects mitochondria from free radicals and the oxidative damage they cause. In this way, Glutathione is paramount to energy production.

If mitochondria are damaged, they slow down and make less energy. The affected “diseased” mitochondria lead to decreased bodily function and efficiency.

To make things worse, damaged mitochondria output more free radicals. In turn, these free radicals cause further mitochondrial damage and create a vicious cycle of less energy and more damage.

Glutathione binds these free radicals and relieves oxidative stress — not just on the mitochondria but on the rest of the cell.

Glutathione helps boost your immunity.

Glutathione helps your immune system stay strong and ready to fight infections. While vitamin C seems to get all the accolades for immunity, Glutathione is the under-recognized supporting actor who deserves the starring role.

Research shows that active Glutathione (GSH) primes white cells such as natural killer (NK) and T cells, your body’s front-line infection fighters. GSH-enhanced T cells can produce more infection-fighting substances, controlling bacterial and viral infections.

One clinical trial, in particular, found that GSH doubled NK cells’ ability to be cytotoxic (kill invaders) after just six months of use. Glutathione has a potent antibacterial effect as it helps the immune cells called macrophages fight the bacterium that causes tuberculosis, Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

In another study, researchers found that GSH modulates the behavior of many immune system cells, affecting adaptive immunity and protecting against microbial, viral, and parasitic infections.

Glutathione fights inflammation

Do glutathione pills help with inflammation? Glutathione is excellent at fighting chronic inflammation!

Inflammation has been a hot topic in the natural health world for the past decade; however, many people still don’t fully understand precisely why inflammation lies at the root of most health concerns plaguing Americans today.

High levels of inflammation are present in virtually every chronic illness, like diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. However, inflammation is also healthy and necessary (in short bursts) to fight infectious invaders.

In the real world, environmental toxins, your diet, stress, and other lifestyle issues have disabled the checks and balances of this system, and inflammation doesn’t subside and go away as it is meant to. As a result, many people suffer from chronic, systemic inflammation.

When this happens, you’re in trouble. It would help if you had a lot of extra protection. That’s where Glutathione can help.

Glutathione (GSH) controls when inflammation increases or decreases as needed by instructing and influencing our immune white cells. This is an entirely separate mechanism from its antioxidant properties.

Rebalancing glutathione levels reduces chronic inflammation and restores immune function.

Glutathione has beauty and anti-aging benefits.

Glutathione reduces oxidative stress in the body to improve your overall complexion. With glutathione treatments, you can see:

  • Overall lighter, brighter skin tone
  • Even skin tone with reduced dark spots
  • Reduced blemishes
  • Diminished acne scars

Glutathione gives you a youthful glow and smooth, even skin. Our high-quality treatments can also be combined with other services to enhance your look.

Glutathione helps with reducing oxidative stress.

Oxidative stress occurs when there’s an imbalance between the production of free radicals and the body’s ability to fight them off. Too-high levels of oxidative stress may be a precursor to multiple diseases. These include diabetes, cancer, and rheumatoid arthritis. Glutathione helps stave off the impact of oxidative stress, which may, in turn, reduce disease.

An article cited in the Journal of Cancer Science and Therapy indicated that glutathione deficiency leads to increased levels of oxidative stress, leading to cancer. It also stated that elevated glutathione levels raised antioxidant levels and resistance to oxidative stress in cancer cells.

How does Glutathione assist with your Brain Heath?

How do low levels of Glutathione affect the brain and mental health? There is a clear link between low glutathione levels and decreased brain health.

As we age, it’s not uncommon to experience a bit of forgetfulness or difficulty concentrating. These are just two examples of neurodegeneration, a process by which the neurons in our brains become damaged and may even die.

This leaves us with “shrinking” brains that don’t function to their total capacity. While this process is unavoidable as we age, it can be slowed or even reversed, and Glutathione (GSH) plays an important role.

Accelerated neurodegenerative diseases, like Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease, exhibit high levels of oxidative stress damage to the brain and low active glutathione (GSH) levels. GSH can ease and decrease the rate of damage to brain tissue.

Other neurological illnesses like Lyme disease weaken when your body experiences higher glutathione levels.

How does Glutathione affect your Heart Health?

The number one health-related cause of death in the United States is still a heart attack. A lesser-known fact is that Glutathione may prevent heart attack and other heart disease, thanks to its ability to neutralize the “lipid oxidation” (fat oxidation) process.

Virtually all heart disease starts with the accumulation of arterial plaque inside the artery walls. Bad cholesterol (LDL) is lipid oxidized and damages the lining of the blood vessels, forming plaque (atherosclerosis).

When these plaques eventually rupture and break off, they can clog your blood vessels and block blood flow that causes heart attacks or strokes.

With the help of an enzyme called glutathione peroxidase, Glutathione stops the superoxides, free radicals, hydrogen peroxides, lipid peroxides, and peroxynitrites that cause this lipid oxidation and wreak havoc on your health.

In this way, Glutathione helps prevent damage and lowers the risk of heart attacks.

In a study of 643 cardiac patients who underwent coronary angiography in Germany, those who died of heart attacks had much lower glutathione peroxidase levels than those who survived.

If we don’t have enough Glutathione to neutralize damage to our arteries, we are at increased risk of heart disease and cardiovascular events.

How does Glutathione help with Autism?

1 in 59 children is diagnosed with Autism. It’s essential to do everything you can to alleviate the more harmful symptoms of autism spectrum disorder. Supplementing Glutathione should prevent oxidative stress every day in children dealing with Autism.

How does Glutathione help Autism?

Low glutathione levels are a common finding in Autism, among other biomarkers. Promising new research shows that liposomal and transdermal Glutathione might help raise levels of GSH in plasma in children with Autism. Some evidence suggests that glutathione support may improve function in Autism, but double-blinded, large-scale studies are needed to support this scientifically.

Glutathione and Peripheral Vascular Disease

Glutathione supplementation has been linked with reduced symptoms of peripheral vascular disease (PVD). Since PVD affects 10% of Americans, Glutathione offers a much-needed solution to this circulatory system disease.

PVD occurs when narrowed blood vessels do not supply enough blood supply to muscles when needed — most often muscles in the legs. Fatigue and pain with walking are hallmark symptoms of PVD.

In a double-blind study, 40 PVD patients were given IV infusions of either GSH glutathione or placebo, twice a day. The patients receiving GSH could walk pain-free much further than the patients receiving placebo injections.

IV clinics that offer glutathione injections are gaining in popularity. However, these aren’t quite mainstream yet. The extra work of finding such a clinic may be a worthwhile pursuit for those afflicted by PVD.

Osteoarthritis – Cryotherapy, Infrared Sauna, & iV Hydration Benefits

What is Ankylosing Spondylitis?

Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is a rare type of arthritis that causes pain and stiffness in your spine. This lifelong condition, also known as Bechterew disease, usually starts in your lower back. It can spread up to your neck or damage joints in other parts of your body.

What does it mean?

“Ankylosis” means fused bones or other hard tissue. “Spondylitis” means inflammation in your spinal bones, or vertebrae. Severe cases can leave your spine hunched

Is there a cure?

There’s no cure for AS. But medication and exercise can ease pain and help keep your back strong.

Case Study #1

Background of Study:

The aim of this study was to assess the impact of whole-body cryotherapy with subsequent kinesitherapy on spinal mobility parameters in patients with ankylosing spondylitis. Material and methods. We enrolled 32 men with ankylosing spondylitis in a clinical trial. The subjects were randomly divided into 2 groups consisting of 16 persons, with no significant differences in age, duration, or stage of disease, treated with a cycle of 10 whole-body cryotherapy procedures with subsequent kinesitherapy or kinesitherapy alone, respectively. Routine spinal mobility parameters were determined for all patients before and after the end of the therapeutic cycle.

Results:

Significant improvement of spinal mobility was observed in both groups of patients, but in patients exposed to whole-body cryotherapy with subsequent kinesitherapy the percentage changes in the values of particular parameters were more distinct as compared to patients in whom kinesitherapy alone was used, mainly in respect to lumbar and thoracic spinal mobility. Conclusion. The use of whole-body cryotherapy as a component of comprehensive therapy in patients with ankylosing spondylitis produces significant improvements in spinal mobility parameters as compared to patients in whom kinesitherapy alone is used.

Case Study #2

Background

The treatment of ankylosing spondylitis (AS) patients requires a combination of non-pharmacological (education, exercise and physical therapy), as well as pharmacological treatment modalities. The optimal management of AS still remains unresolved.

Objective

The aim was to measure and compare the effects of whole-body cryotherapy (WBC) at -110∘C and at -60∘C and exercise therapy alone on disease activity and the functional parameters of patients with AS.
Methods: Ninety-two patients were allocated to three groups: with WBC at -110∘C or at -60∘C (each concurrent with exercise therapy), or exercise therapy alone. Disease activity and the functional parameters of the patients were measured at study entry and at the end of the 8-day treatment.

Results

Supervised therapy, irrespective of the program, led to a significant reduction in disease activity (Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Index: BASDAI, Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Score: ASDAS-CRP), disease-related back pain, fatigue, duration and intensity of morning stiffness and a significant improvement in the patient’s functional capacity (Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Functional Index: BASFI), spine mobility (Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Metrology Index: BASMI) and chest expandability, with no changes in the levels of CRP. It has been demonstrated that following therapy, the group that underwent cryotherapy at -110∘C manifested significantly reduced disease activity (BASDAI) compared with exercise therapy only (p= 0.024).

Conclusion

Adding cryotherapy at -110∘C to exercise therapy led to significantly reduced disease activity expressed in BASDAI, compared with exercise therapy alone.

Rheumatoid Arthritis, Cryotherapy, & Infrared Sauna

What is Rheumatoid Arthritis?

A chronic inflammatory disorder affecting many joints, including those in the hands and feet. In rheumatoid arthritis, the body’s immune system attacks its own tissue, including joints. In severe cases, it attacks internal organs. Rheumatoid arthritis affects joint linings, causing painful swelling. Over long periods of time, the inflammation associated with rheumatoid arthritis can cause bone erosion and joint deformity.

Who does it affect?

RA generally starts between the ages of 30 and 60 in women and somewhat later in life in men. The lifetime risk of developing RA is 3.6 percent for women and 1.7 percent for men However, RA can strike at any age — even small children can get it. (click here for source)

Cryotherapy was invented because of Rheumatoid Arthritis

Dr. Yamaguchi of Japan who first started using freezing treatments of short duration on his Rheumatoid Arthritis patients. He found that a raid decreas in temperature on the out layer of skin (epidermis) leads to an immediate release of endorphins causing people to become less sensitive to pain.

Cryotherapy Case Study

The aim of this article was to review current evidence about cryotherapy in inflammatory rheumatic diseases(therapeutic and biological effects). For therapeutic effects, we performed a systematic review (PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, LILACS databases, unpublished data) and selected studies including non-operated and non-infected arthritic patients treated with local cryotherapy or whole-body cryotherapy. By pooling 6 studies including 257 rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients, we showed a significant decrease in pain visual analogic scale (mm) and 28-joint disease activity score after chronic cryotherapy in RA patients. For molecular pathways, local cryotherapy induces an intrajoint temperature decrease, which might downregulate several mediators involved in joint inflammation and destruction (cytokines, cartilage-degrading enzymes, proangiogenic factors), but studies in RA are rare. Cryotherapy should be included in RA therapeutic strategies as an adjunct therapy, with potential corticosteroid and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug dose-sparing effects. What does Cryotherapy assist with:

  • Relieving Joint Pain
  • Reducing Inflammation
  • Better Sleep
  • Reduce use of Prescription Medication
  • Improve Mobility
  • Improve Mental Health

Infrared Sauna Case Study

To study the effects of infrared (IR) Sauna, a form of total-body hyperthermia in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and ankylosing spondylitis (AS) patients were treated for a 4-week period with a series of eight IR treatments. Seventeen RA patients and 17 AS patients were studied. IR was well tolerated, and no adverse effects were reported, no exacerbation of disease. Pain and stiffness decreased clinically, and improvements were statistically significant (p < 0.05 and p < 0.001 in RA and AS patients, respectively) during an IR session. Fatigue also decreased. Both RA and AS patients felt comfortable on average during and especially after treatment. In the RA and AS patients, pain, stiffness, and fatigue also showed clinical improvements during the 4-week treatment period, but these did not reach statistical significance. No relevant changes in disease activity scores were found, indicating no exacerbation of disease activity. In conclusion, infrared treatment has statistically significant short-term beneficial effects and clinically relevant period effects during treatment in RA and AS patients without enhancing disease activity. IR has good tolerability and no adverse effects. (click here for source)

How Can Cryotherapy Help with Weight Loss?

Cryotherapy is becoming increasingly popular because of its capability to reduce things like stress, chronic pain, workout recovery times, and more. But, does cryotherapy work for weight loss? There is some evidence to suggest that it can help.

Cryotherapy is becoming increasingly popular because of its capability to reduce things like stress, chronic pain, workout recovery times, and more. But, does cryotherapy work for weight loss? There is some evidence to suggest that it can help.

Cryotherapy Weight Loss: What We Know

What Is Cryotherapy for Weight Loss?

Whole-body cryotherapy is a procedure during which you stand in a chamber that covers your entire body from the neck down.

While you stand there, the temperatures in the chamber are reduced to as low as -200 to -300 degrees fahrenheit. The whole procedure only lasts for a few minutes, usually about three and no more than five.

Whole-body cryotherapy was invented in Japan, continued to develop in Europe, and has been taking the United States by chilly storm because of the many benefits it provides, which we’ll get into a bit later.

For now, let’s take a look at the purported benefits of cryotherapy for weight loss.

It’s been proven that regular exposure to cold temperatures of 62.5 F (17 C) or below leads to fat burning. This is because when your body is cold, it starts some internal processes that burn energy to stay warm, which in turn can cause fat loss.

That’s not to say one day out in the cold is going to make you noticeably thinner. But, over time, repeated exposure to cold temperatures can contribute to weight loss by increasing your metabolism and helping your body process glucose, or sugars, that can otherwise turn into fat.

Cryotherapy Fat Loss and Cryotherapy Calories Burned: What Are the Facts?

Studies into using whole-body cryotherapy for weight loss are relatively new, so the jury is out on exactly how much it may contribute to boosting your metabolism and reducing fat.

Proponents of cryo weight loss have said that it may be possible to burn upwards of 500 calories by spending three minutes in a cryotherapy chamber set to -300 F.

Though studies have yet to confirm numbers like these, studies have confirmed that people who spend just two hours a day in a room with temperatures of 63 F burn more calories than people who spend the same amount of time in a room at higher temperatures.

Studies have also shown that people who regularly sleep in rooms colder than 66 F experience up to a 10-percent boost in their metabolic rate and burn more calories than people who sleep in higher temperatures.

Besides the potential for colder temperatures to provide you with a metabolic boost, cryotherapy may help you in your weight loss journey in other ways because of the other effects it has on your body.

The intense flash of extremely low temperatures triggers an endorphin rush, which some users report has aided them in boosting the intensity of their post-cryo workouts.

In fact, cryotherapy has become really popular with athletes because of the endorphin boost and the anti-inflammatory responses that it triggers, which both help with pain management and can shorten post-workout and injury recovery times.

What Are the Other Benefits of Cryotherapy?

Benefits of Whole-Body Cryotherapy:

  • Pain and inflammation reduction
  • Mood enhancement (endorphin boost)
  • Anti-aging and skin rejuvenation (more collagen production)
  • Increased metabolism and blood flow
  • Higher energy levels
  • Improved sleep
  • Headache and migraine relief
  • Better overall skin appearance
  • Revitalized immune system
  • Can help treat anxiety and depression
  • Can help with other medical conditions like arthritis and tendonitis

The brief exposure to extremely cold temperatures that your body experiences during cryotherapy has the potential to boost your well-being in a variety of ways.

If you deal with chronic pain and inflammation, cryotherapy can provide you with some much needed relief. This includes if you suffer from a chronic medical condition like arthritis, tendonitis, or fibromyalgia.

Cryotherapy can also relieve pain and inflammation from activity-related injuries like muscle and ligament strains.

The relief cryotherapy provides can also result in more restful sleep, better moods, and less stress, anxiety, and depression.

Besides that, cryotherapy can also boost collagen production, which leads to better, more youthful skin. Cryotherapy can even be used to treat some chronic skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis.

CoolSculpting: a Proven Cryo Weight Loss Procedure

An Alternative to Cryotherapy Weight Loss

If you’re interested in using the powers of cold temperatures to reduce fat loss, there’s another procedure you can use to target specific problem areas and get rid of unwanted fat deposits. This treatment is called CoolSculpting.

CoolSculpting is a type of body sculpting treatment that involves using a special machine to apply extremely cold temperatures to specific areas of your body such as your abs, thighs, neck, love handles, upper arms, and more.

This machine uses suction cups to target stubborn fat deposits below your skin and tissue and freeze the fat cells to death with temperatures of up to -11 F. When the fat cells are destroyed in this way, they then get flushed out of your body in your urine and are permanently gone.

CoolSculpting is a totally non-invasive procedure, which is why it’s becoming a popular alternative to liposuction for permanent fat removal. This method of cryo weight loss is also known as cryolipolysis.

This type of treatment is FDA approved and results have been documented, so if you’re looking for a non-invasive fat reduction procedure, CoolSculpting is something to consider. Sessions only last about 30-45 minutes and you can go about your regular activities afterwards.

Why Choose CoolSculpting:

  • FDA-approved fat reduction treatment
  • Permanently kills fat cells
  • Fat gets flushed out of the body naturally
  • Completely non-invasive
  • Minimal discomfort
  • No recovery period after procedure

Conclusion

Though we can’t say with certainty the extent to which cryotherapy may help with weight loss, we do know that it can provide many different benefits with regular treatments. We also know that extreme cold can be used to permanently kill fat, as exhibited by CoolSculpting.

Better Options for Pain Management in Port St. Lucie

The Best Way to Treat Pain – At the Root Cause!  Right here at iCRYO Port St Lucie, FL

Let’s start with why we might be feeling pain; stress, injury, hydration levels, disease, and injuries.  Pain is merely a signal much like the check engine light in our car.  When that comes on, we typically do maintenance.  We don’t simply turn off the light.  Historically in society we have been offered a myriad of pain-relieving remedies to do just that, turn off the pain and eliminate the signal.    Americans take more than 30 Billion doses of NSAIDS per year!

How we Treat Pain Today

Some of the most common pain relievers are; Aspirin causes ulcers, Advil causes leaky gut syndrome, Tylenol can cause liver disease, Opiates are highly addictive and the vast array of biological products coming to market have a whole host of other product specific side effects.  What these products all have in common is that they simply mask the pain and are in no way actually addressing the root cause or helping the body to heal in any way.  Masking pain means the issue persists and we actually start seeing the side effects from taking the pain killers.  They are real.  There are actual death rates for Tylenol and approximately 80,000 people end up in the emergency room.  I could write a whole blog about the side effects on this class of drugs, Opiates are highly addictive and kill more than 50,000 people due to overdose in the USA and ruin countless more lives.  In addition to leaky gut, Advil significantly lowers sex hormones in the body and causes 5-10% of all required kidney transplants each year.  To say the least, it’s serious stuff and with 30 billion being swallowed each year we need to start thinking differently about what is best for our health and longevity if we do not change!

A Better Way to Treat Pain – A Non-invasive way to Eliminate Pain and Inflammation

At iCRYO Port St Lucie we have a much Better way.  We offer many different tools to eliminate pain by treating the root cause, enabling the body to heal itself more quickly, and we do not cause any side effects.  We have multiple different technologies that can be used and built into your lifestyle at a very reasonable price with significant benefits.  We have Photobiomodulation, Whole-body Cryotherapy, Local Cryotherapy, PEMF and Infrared Sauna which will all work toward your goal of eliminating the pain but also help the body to heal itself.

Photobiomodulation (PBM):

Light therapy has been shown to have significant biological effects on humans. For example, light therapy is used to manage depression. Several clinical trials have shown that certain wavelengths of light can improve wound healing, decrease temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMJ) pain, and decrease back pain. In these trials, light was directed at the site of pain. The investigators have shown green (LED) light produced antinociception (analgesia) and reversed neuropathic pain associated with several models of chronic pain.   iCRYO Port St. Lucie has the most powerful Photobiomodulation bed on the market and can deliver the efficacious dose (20,000 joules) in just 12 minutes.  Light induces a complex chain of physiological reactions in diseased and damaged tissues to accelerate wound healing and tissue regeneration, increase circulation, reduce acute inflammation, reduce acute and chronic pain and help restore normal cellular function.  Many people have called Photobiomodulation a miracle once they discover it.   The best part about Photobiomodulation is that it also heals the body.  When reactive oxygen species are displaced from the mitochondria, a DNA repair response is triggered and the area is enhanced based on our intended DNA.  I like to call it original factory settings.  The lights combine together to penetrate at different levels in our bodies.  Infrared light penetrates farthest (deeper tissues, organs, and bone), Red’s penetrate the skin (dermal layer and wound healing) and green is a more intense energy that has a lower level of penetration yet may affect surface and wound healing more positively.

Whole-body & Local Cryotherapy for Pain Relief and Muscle Healing

Cryotherapy can help with muscle pain, as well as some joint and muscle disorders, such as arthritis. It may also promote faster healing of athletic injuries. Doctors have long recommended using ice packs on injured and painful muscles. Doing so may increase blood circulation after the ice pack is removed, promoting healing and pain relief.  A study published in 2000 found that cryotherapy offered temporary relief from the pain of rheumatoid arthritis. The research found that cryotherapy could reduce the damaging effects of intense exercise. People who used cryotherapy also reported less pain.  Another 2017 study also supports the benefits of cryotherapy for relieving muscle pain and speeding healing.   The main difference between local cryotherapy and whole-body is the ability to target a specific area and ensure the inflammation has completely been eradicated in that one spot, it is more focused.  When inflammation is reduced the blood can flow to the area and deliver much needed oxygen and nutrients previously being blocked by the inflammation.

PEMF Reduces Pain and Helps Heal our Bodies

Our HUGO PEMF delivers an extremely high intensity, short duration electromagnetic pulse combined with several frequencies. We have matts that cover the body for the bottom and the top so that you get a very efficient and comprehensive session.  This results in a magnetic field that penetrates completely through muscles and joints in just minutes, and consequently alleviates pain faster and has long-term benefit on the cells, bones and cardiovascular circulation.   Doing PEMF on a routine basis is extremely beneficial from a health maintenance perspective as it greatly enhances circulation and circulation of our blood is what delivers oxygen and nutrients to all of our cells.   Did you know 24% of our blood is pumped by the heart and the other 76% is pushed throughout the trillions of cells in our body by the electromagnetic energy in all of us.  We need to keep our electromagnetic energy charged in our bodies just like we do our smartphones.   PEMF helps destroy weak or diseased cells and enables the body to build healthy cells much more quickly.  PEMF also triggers cellular exercise which expands and contracts our cell membranes through the session.  This helps remove any trans-fat or impermeability that builds up as we age.  Thus, our cells are more able to absorb the oxygen and nutrition being delivered and we will heal much more quickly.  PEMF is actually FDA approved to heal bone faster!  It also heals depression and the pain associated with it.

Infrared Saunas for Pain Relief

For years, doctors have recommended Infrared saunas because of proven relief from sports injury, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, arthritis and other chronic pain conditions.

Infrared wavelengths penetrate the body to create heat, which creates profound therapeutic benefits. They increase blood flow to the muscles, delivering more concentrated oxygen, which creates more energy to heal.

Infrared saunas have resulted in effective pain management therapy for many different ailments. Here are just some of the conditions in which infrared sauna therapy has been successfully used for pain relief.

Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD)

Those who suffer from PAD can experience severe leg pain caused by reduced blood flow and oxygen to the lower legs, which can get worse with walking. But Japanese researchers found that infrared sauna sessions of just 15 minutes a day significantly lowered pain, and patients were able to walk twice as far without pain. 4

Rheumatoid Arthritis and Ankylosing Spondylitis

Those who suffer from autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis often struggle with pain management that comes with hefty side effects. But with sauna therapy, pain relief can be found without negative outcomes. A study has shown that while in the sauna, all patients with these conditions felt significantly better, and at the end of the study, those with rheumatoid arthritis showed improvements in pain and fatigue while not in the sauna.

Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia causes pain throughout the entire body, with particular areas of sensitivity. Studies have shown that not only does infrared sauna use help with natural pain relief during treatment, but even months after ending sauna treatment the pain was still significantly lower.

Emotional Pain

Physical pain is often given much more credit in our society than pain caused by emotion. But medical doctors have begun to understand the real physiological impact of psychological issues. Infrared sauna therapy works for the pain that can’t be seen, too. In the same study of chronic pain patients, researchers also found that patients had a statistically lower anger level compared to those not in the sauna group.

IV Infusion: What Is It and How Can You Benefit from IV Therapies?

IV infusion is a method of delivering vitamins, minerals, and hydration directly to your body by infusing them into your bloodstream. This offers superior absorption, so your body can receive the maximum benefits from the added nutrients.

We offer IV infusions in Dallas, TX to strengthen your immune system, reverse the effects of aging, improve athletic performance, kick a hangover, fight fatigue, boost energy levels, and more.

One such IV infusion treatment that we’re particularly excited to offer our patients is a relatively new treatment called NAD+ IV therapy.

This holistic therapy is an all-natural way to supplement your body with a powerful coenzyme present in every living cell, which is responsible for aiding many biological processes in the body.

Everything You Need to Know About IV Infusions

How Exactly Does Intravenous Therapy Work?

Intravenous therapy is a very safe and effective way of replenishing all kinds of nutrients in the human body. For example, you might have heard of high-performance athletes using it to boost their nutrition and hydration.

IV therapy can also be used to supplement chemicals that naturally occur in the human body, such as NAD+.

When you go in for an IV therapy treatment, a technician or doctor hooks you up to an IV drip for a period of several hours. The liquid drip slowly infuses your bloodstream with the desired nutrients.

This is the most efficient way for your body to break down nutrients because it bypasses your gut and allows your body to absorb the nutrient directly, offering 100% bioavailability to your biological systems.

This means that your body directly absorbs the highly concentrated nutrition and can start using it right away, resulting in quickly noticeable positive effects of the supplementation.

IV Therapy Can Help:

  • Fight effects of aging
  • Improve overall health and quality of life
  • Boost immune system
  • Battle chronic conditions and age-related illnesses
  • Increase physical performance
  • Improve energy levels and reduce fatigue
  • Cure hangovers

What Exactly Is NAD+ IV Therapy?

How NAD+ Works in Your Body

NAD stands for nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, which is a coenzyme present in every living cell in your body. In other words, your body naturally produces nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide.

NAD+ is the acronym for the coenzyme in its active form within your body. As you age, your body slows down its production of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, and it increasingly turns into its inactive form, or NADH.

The active NAD+ molecule binds to other enzymes at a molecular level to activate important metabolic and biological processes.

It’s what’s known as a “helper” molecule because it aids all kinds of biological processes like digestion, metabolism, energy levels, cognition, mental clarity, and more.

NAD+ Helps Your Body:

  • Convert food into consumable energy
  • Regulate circadian and metabolic rhythms
  • Protect and repair DNA
  • Maintain mitochondrial function
  • Boost activity of sirtuin (SIRP 1) and poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP 1) proteins

How Can a NAD+ Infusion Benefit You?

Low levels of NAD+ in your body can speed up the effects of aging, lead to degenerative cognitive disorders like Alzheimer’s, and increase the risks of heart disease, diabetes, and other chronic and age-related health problems.

Here’s the good news: studies have shown signs that supplementing your body’s natural NAD+ levels with NAD+ IV infusion can slow down and even reverse some effects of aging.

There are exciting indications that NAD+ supplementation can help individuals battling chronic illness and age-related disease improve their quality of life. There are even studies being conducted using the coenzyme to treat alcohol and substance addictions.

As you’ve aged, you might notice that you feel slower, both physically and mentally. If you have constant feelings of physical fatigue and/or mental fog, it can lead to a less active and less healthy lifestyle and cause future health problems.

NAD+ IV therapy is something you can consider to help fight such feelings of inhibited physical and mental capacity.

Supplementing your body with an IV infusion can increase your overall sense of wellness as well as fight symptoms related to disease. The extra boost can help you get through your days with more energy and mental clarity.

NAD+ Therapy Can Help:

  • Restore neurological function and reduce cognitive decline
  • Improve memory and concentration
  • Increase energy levels and reduce fatigue
  • Boost metabolism and promote weight loss
  • Improve muscle strength and function
  • Treat depression and anxiety
  • Battle chronic illness and age-related diseases
  • Treat addiction to alcohol or other substances

NAD+ treatment has clear benefits for those suffering from medical conditions, but you don’t have to be experiencing symptoms of aging or illness to benefit from it.

Perfectly healthy individuals, including athletes, are increasingly turning to IV therapy to boost their everyday performance and help their bodies achieve their full potential.

Boosting your body’s natural NAD+ levels through IV drip supplementation can contribute to whole-body wellness. Patients have reported better endurance, higher physical performance, more mental sharpness, and even more youthful skin and hair.

Is NAD+ IV Therapy Right for You?

If you’re interested in slowing down the effects of aging, improving your overall health and wellness, protecting against illness, or enhancing the performance of your body and mind, you might just be a candidate for NAD+ IV therapy!

NAD+ IV Infusion May Also Help People with:

  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Alzheimer’s disease
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Diabetes
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Mitochondrial dysfunction

Inc 5000 - iCRYO cryotherapy near me

iCRYO is One of the Fastest Growing Companies in America

We are proud to announce that iCRYO was awarded #978 out of the 5000 fastest-growing private companies in America by Inc magazine. The effort we put every day into delivering only top-quality products and services pays off, and we are just getting started.

“It’s truly an honor to be listed in the top 20% of the INC 5000 fastest growing companies. At iCRYO we strive to grow our company through partnerships with extraordinary franchisees and developing a strong company culture with our corporate team. Our success comes from hiring sharp passionate team members and fostering excellent communication with our vendors and our franchisees,” our Chairman/CEO and Co-Founder Bill Jones expressed.

Far from settling with what we are now, we strive to improve our guest and franchisee experience on a daily basis. Our commitment to offering outstanding results is unwavering.

What is Inc Magazine?

Inc. Magazine is one of the most prestigious business media properties in America. It was founded by Bernie Golhirsh in 1979 and is based in New York City. Every year, the magazine prints eight issues and publishes daily online articles and videos.

The main topic of the magazine is business. Every year, it publishes a list of the fastest-growing private companies in the United States.

The magazine’s prestige and reach make the annual-5000 list a very coveted distinction. Among its many awards and achievements, we can highlight:

  • The magazine produces a weekly podcast named Inc. Uncensored and has won the Best of the Web Awards for Best Podcast in 2016 and 2017. This podcast has also won the 2018 Eddie & Ozzie Award honorable mention.
  • Several Folio Awards in 2017 and 2018 for best printing, redesign, and use of video and social media.

What is the annual Inc. 5000?

The Inc. 5000 list features privately-held companies with the fastest-growing features in America. From its very beginning, the magazine published a list dubbed Inc. 100, which featured the 100 fastest-growing public small companies. The list then grew to become one of 500 with a focus on private companies.

It was not until 2008 that the Inc. 5000 list was introduced. The Inc. 500 listed then became the top 10% of the former. But what exactly are the qualifications of companies that belong here?

First of all, the magazine takes into account the percentage of revenue growth over three years. For a private company to be included on this list, they must meet the following requirements:

  • Be generating revenue by the first week of the calendar year.
  • Must be able to show three years of revenue.
  • U.S.- based
  • Privately held
  • Independent
  • Revenue in the first year must be $100,000 at least.
  • The year before applying to Inc. 5000, revenue must be at least $2 million.

To promote its publication, the Inc holds an Awards Ceremony that includes workshops and keynotes by famous personalities in the business and political world.

Our Award

On October 1st this year, Inc. unveiled iCRYO Franchise Systems as being featured in the top 20% of the fastest-growing private companies in the United States. The focus of this award is on independent small businesses.

iCRYO, as a profitable business, is part of the country’s most dynamic economic sector. Corporations that are gigantic today had their first exposure when they were featured on the Inc. 5000 list.

Here at iCRYO, we are deeply honored and excited about this distinction. There are several aspects of this year’s list that makes this award especially significant:

  • Members of the Inc. 5000 list comprise a group of highly competitive companies.
  • Compared to prior lists, the 2020 one displays an astonishing growth.
  • The 5000 companies created a total revenue of $209 billion in 2019, producing over 1 million jobs in the past three years.

During the past few years, iCRYO has seen staggering growth, thanks to our trusted customers who are the core focus of what we are. Since its foundation in 2015, the company has been setting the standard for cryotherapy services.

Our franchise system was designed to disrupt the market as cryotherapy becomes more popular with the masses. We contribute to the success of entrepreneurs interested in cryotherapy solutions.

“Our success comes from hiring sharp passionate team members and fostering

excellent communication with our vendors and our franchisees. iCRYO is creating a movement and disrupting the Beauty, Health and Wellness industries, and is a direct reflection of the people growing it,” as our founder and CEO Bill Jones puts it.

Our Commitment at iCRYO

Perhaps the first question that comes to mind is: What comes next?

It is not in our DNA to settle. Like the many world class athletes we count as investors (Jaylon Smith and Paige Hathaway), we continuously strive to improve in all aspects.

We realize that the concept of cryotherapy is one that has been growing in the mind of the public. This has translated into life-changing results for both our franchisees and their customers. Despite others trying to discredit what we responsibly promise and deliver to our customers, we stand with a strong vision and a solid mission.

“We are blessed to have supreme leadership, dynamic individuals, and an authentic corporate staff from all walks of life. There’s no doubt in my mind that we will experience exponential growth year after year over the next 10-15 years.”

Outlined by our visionary CEO, our potential for growth rests on three essential factors:

  1. An efficient leadership that stays in the loop of technological advances in our niche and seeks to implement it once its efficacy is proven.
  2. Dynamic individuals with a constant initiative to hone their craft and deliver high-end services.
  3. A corporate staff that positively provides heterogeneity to our dedicated associates team and is continually seeking to deliver quality services at an affordable price.

This is who we are here at iCRYO. Our commitment is to you, our clients.

To help every individual achieve their top health potential through a strengthened immune system and improve their lifestyle as a consequence.

This is our culture.

This is our passion.

Port St. Lucie Weight Loss Options

Our goal for losing weight and living healthier is one of those goals that continues to follow us from year to year. We always want to be in the best shape, fit in our clothes the best we can and enjoy the energy that being lean provides us! Never the less, life has its ups and downs as we navigate ourselves through life’s journeys and we need different strategies for different phases of life. When you go on that grind to burn more calories in the gym, you’ll need to worker harder and more intense so that you can burn more calories and create that calories deficit that will deliver results.

One great strategy might be modifying your existing routine just a little bit!  Another strategy may be simply adding an extra set of each weight lifting exercise in your normal workout which could make a huge difference in results and calories burned.

Working to failure always maximizes the burn and creates an exhaustion level that demand maximum stores of glycogen your muscles contain.  Another fabulous strategy might be an additional 12 minutes of cardio 3 x per week at an intensity level that makes you sweat.   This will not only burn more calories but invigorate your metabolism to burn more calories many hours after you have completed.

The other great reason not to forget cardio when you want to lose weight is that Oxygenation is how your metabolism gets the energy from your fat cells.  Nothing better than heavy breathing to Oxygenate some fat cells.   Both of these strategies require discipline and effort.  That hard work and effort creates sore muscles.

Sore muscles are soothed during cryotherapy session.  So, reward those muscles with some loving Cryotherapy!  Another bonus is that Cryotherapy sessions enable us to burn 500 to 800 more calories per day.  The best news is that your next trip to the gym will be enhanced because you will not be as sore and your inflammation will be reduced.  Performance cannot improve without a recovery plan in place!

Photobiomodulation

Here at iCRYO in Port St Lucie, we additionally offer Photobiomodulation.  Photobiomodulation is great for muscle recovery but it can also be used as a pre work out to help energize you.  Your body will be greatly invigorated by the photons of light, your mitochondria will be operating 300% more efficiently and your blood will be pumping more freely with the addition of Nitic Oxide released during a session.

So, the next time you want more energy try Photobiomodulation.  The other fabulous fact about PBM is that it literally melts Fat Cells.  Data and Analytics illustrate a 12 -minute session takes ordinary subcutaneous fat and melts the layers on the outside of our bodies.

If you are able to follow up a session of Photobiomodulation with HIIT exercise or a Power Plate session you will literally burn off these fat stores immediately.  Clinical tests completed show that when exercise is combined with Red Light therapy (PBM) people lost an average of 11.5kgs or 26lbs in 3 months.  They also gained muscles as their hormones were positively affected during the sessions.

Power Plate

If you do not want to do HIIT exercise iCRYO has added a Power Plate to our offerings.  Power Plate has also demonstrated significant fat & weight loss by stimulating the metabolism and lymphatic system during a training session.  Any movement on this machine is compounded by a significant factor (10x) through the tri planar movement of the plate.

The machine comes with pre-programed workouts for almost any Health, Beauty or Performance goal you wish to achieve.  Sessions are only 15-20 minutes but will leave your muscles depleted like an HIIT work out.  The power plate stimulates the areas of your body you wish to lose fat or cellulite from and drains it.

Power Plate delivers micro hits of instability that forces you to engage muscles you wouldn’t otherwise use on solid ground.  It also stimulates HGH production.  Yes HGH, the youth hormone, by about 2,000%!  This has been demonstrated in multiple studies and is well known throughout the professional sports world.

This is why Power Plate is loved by so many, you simply feel amazing after a session and your body is literally renewing itself!  Power Plate has been a favorite of those who don’t love to exercise and equally loved by those who do enjoy working out.
